It is possible to observe the impacts of the Cold War in every aspect of life in Turkey and the world. It is believed that the process considerably affected even the exhibition activities. This study focuses on the exhibitions of Kenan Özbel, who initially took part in painting exhibitions and introduced his collection of ethnographic artefacts to Turkey and the world after World War II. Özbel's pieces, which met with art lovers between 1947-1989, were exhibited in Vakko, private galleries, bank galleries and university exhibitions in Turkey and in unique art cities such as Paris, Rome and Strasbourg in the Europe. Kenan Özbel, who was in close contact with the Americans during the Democratic Party period, also held exhibitions in various American associations. Özbel, who also contributed works to the "Asian Artists in Crystal" exhibition of the world-famous Steuben Glass Company, which was presented to 490 thousand people, has become a universal name. All these exhibitions of Özbel and the reflections of the Steuben Glass Exhibition in Turkey, revealing how the Cold War cultural policy surrounded art, constitute the basis of this research. The relationship of domestic and international exhibitions with industry, economy, diplomacy and small handicrafts is the subject of the study, as well as the extent to which the exhibition activities in Turkey are related to historical processes is revealed from a retrospective perspective.
