Siirt ilinde kırsal kalkınma desteklerinin arıcılık faaliyetlerine etkisi üzerine bir araştırma

Abstract

This study examined the effects of rural development supports on beekeeping enterprises in Siirt province. The main objective of the research was to determine the effects of the supports provided within the scope of the Rural Development Investments Support Program KKYDP) on the production capacity, economic structure, technical infrastructure, and sustainability of beekeeping enterprises. The material of the study consisted of data obtained through surveys conducted with 165 beekeeping enterprises in Siirt province. Descriptive statistics, comparative analyses, and multiple linear regression analysis were used in data evaluation. According to the research findings, all enterprises 100%) practiced migratory beekeeping, and 63.6% of the producers changed locations twice a year to benefit from different floral regions. It was determined that 82.4% of the enterprises benefited from government supports, and these supports had significant positive effects on employment increase 4.32), product quality improvement 4.25), and income increase 4.24, In addition, the supports contributed to increased use of modern equipment, improvement of technical infrastructure, and enhancement of marketing opportunities. However, producers were found to face significant problems such as high input costs, diseases and pests, marketing difficulties, and yield losses associated with climate change. According to the results of the multiple linear regression analysis, the most influential variable explaining the support impact index was the satisfaction index β=0.749; p<0.01), and it was found that as producers' satisfaction with support programs increased, the positive effects of the supports on enterprises also increased significantly. As a result of the study, it was concluded that rural development supports make important contributions to the development of the beekeeping sector; however, to ensure sustainability, training, technical consultancy, extension services, and marketing infrastructure should be strengthened.
