Sınıf öğretmenlerinin görsel sanatlar dersindeki alan yeterliliklerinin incelenmesi: Bir ölçek geliştirme çalışması

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, sınıf öğretmenlerinin görsel sanatlar dersi alanına yönelik yeterlilik algılarını incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda, öğretmenlerin söz konusu yeterlilik algılarını belirlemek amacıyla geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı geliştirilmiş ve elde edilen veriler çeşitli değişkenler açısından analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında 300 öğretmenden açımlayıcı faktör analizi, 274 öğretmenden doğrulayıcı faktör analizi verisi toplanmış ve toplamda 574 öğretmene ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiş "Görsel Sanatlar Dersi Öğretmen Yeterlilik Algısı Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda ölçeğin dört faktörlü ve 14 maddeden oluşan, geçerli ve güvenilir bir yapıya sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, sınıf öğretmenlerinin görsel sanatlar dersine yönelik yeterlilik algılarının genel olarak orta düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Cinsiyet, mezun olunan fakülte ve ders verilen sınıf düzeyine göre anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmazken; mesleki kıdem, görsel sanatlar eğitimi alma durumu, okulun sosyoekonomik düzeyi ve öğretmenlerin kendilerini yeterli görme düzeylerine göre anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlar, sınıf öğretmenlerinin görsel sanatlar dersine yönelik yeterlilik algılarının özellikle mesleki deneyim, alınan eğitimin niteliği ve görev yapılan okulun imkânlarıyla şekillendiğini göstermektedir. Bu bağlamda, öğretmenlerin uygulamaya dayalı deneyimlerinin artırılması ve mesleki gelişim süreçlerinin desteklenmesi önem taşımaktadır.

The aim of this study is to examine classroom teachers' perceptions of their competence in the field of visual arts courses. In this context, a valid and reliable measurement tool was developed to determine teachers' perceptions of competence, and the obtained data were analyzed in terms of various variables. Within the scope of the study, data for exploratory factor analysis were collected from 300 teachers, and data for confirmatory factor analysis were collected from 274 teachers, reaching a total of 574 participants. As a data collection instrument, the "Visual Arts Course Teacher Competency Perception Scale," developed by the researcher, was used. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that the scale has a valid and reliable structure consisting of four factors and 14 items. According to the findings, classroom teachers' perceptions of their competence in visual arts courses are generally at a moderate level. While no significant differences were found in terms of gender, faculty graduated from, and grade level taught, significant differences were identified in terms of professional seniority, receiving visual arts education, the socioeconomic level of the school, and teachers' self-perceived competence levels. These results indicate that classroom teachers' perceptions of competence in visual arts courses are shaped particularly by professional experience, the quality of the education received, and the opportunities provided by the school in which they work. In this regard, it is important to enhance teachers' practice-based experiences and support their professional development processes.
