The purpose of the research was to reveal the opinions and satisfaction levels of farmers about the market and also to offer solutions to problems. The research data were obtained through a survey from 68 local farmers selling agricultural products in the farmers market established on Fridays in the town of Gerze, Sinop province in the Blacksea Region of Turkey. The results of the research showed that most of the farmers (91.2%) use the income earned from the market to provide a living for the family. 66.2% of the farmers consume products that are not sold in the market in their own homes. The main opinions of the farmers about the market were the difficulty of marketing in winter months (92.7%), exhausting marketing operations (91.2%), and competition with big sellers from outside the district due to low product range (85.3%). According to the farmers, the important problems were the open boundary of the marketplace (30.9%), the noisy market condition (22.1%), and the lack of parking facilities in the farmers' market (19.1%). Farmers' markets, one of the direct marketing channels, are an important source of income for farmers and offer buyers the opportunity to buy products fresh and at affordable prices. For this reason, it is important to improve the physical infrastructure of the farmers' markets and to make them more modern in terms of ensuring buyer and seller satisfaction.
