Bölgesel kalkınmada KOBİ'lerin katkısı Midyat örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışma, bölgesel kalkınmada küçük ve orta büyüklükteki işletmelerin (KOBİ) oynadığı kritik rolü, Mardin'in Midyat ilçesi özelinde ele almaktadır. KOBİ'ler; esnek yapıları, krizlere dayanıklılıkları ve yerel ekonomiye olan katkılarıyla bölgesel kalkınmanın anahtarı olarak görülmektedir. Tezin ilk bölümünde KOBİ ve bölgesel kalkınma kavramları detaylı bir şekilde açıklanmıştır. KOBİ'lerin iş gücü, esnek üretim kapasitesi, yerel dinamiklere uyumu ve yenilikçi girişimleri sayesinde ekonomik ve sosyal kalkınmaya sunduğu katkılar tartışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde, KOBİ'lerin bölgesel kalkınma üzerindeki etkileri teorik ve ampirik açıdan değerlendirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda, KOBİ'lerin bölgeler arası gelişmişlik farklarının azaltılması ve yerel ekonomilerin sürdürülebilir şekilde büyümesindeki etkileri irdelenmiştir. Tezin üçüncü bölümünde, Midyat ilçesi özelinde KOBİ'lerin bölgesel kalkınmaya olan etkileri araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada, turizmin artan önemi, tarihi ve kültürel mirasın ekonomik boyuta taşınması, ilçede yapılan dizi çekimlerinin yarattığı ekonomik sinerji ve tekstil sektöründeki üretim kapasitesi detaylı bir şekilde ele alınmıştır. Midyat'ta faaliyet gösteren 390 küçük ve orta ölçekli işletme üzerinde yapılan anket çalışmaları ve SPSS programı ile gerçekleştirilen veri analizleri, ilçedeki KOBİ'lerin işsizliği azaltma ve istihdam yaratma kapasitelerini ortaya koymuştur.

This study examines the critical role that small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) play in regional development, focusing specifically on the district of Midyat in Mardin, Turkey. SMEs, with their flexible structures, resilience to crises, and contributions to local economies, are regarded as key drivers of regional development. The first section of the thesis provides a detailed explanation of the concepts of SMEs and regional development. The role of SMEs in economic and social development, through their workforce, flexible production capacities, adaptability to local dynamics, and innovative ventures, is thoroughly analyzed. The second section evaluates the impact of SMEs on regional development from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. This section also examines how SMEs help reduce regional disparities and support the sustainable growth of local economies. In the third section, the impact of SMEs on regional development in the district of Midyat is investigated. The study highlights the growing significance of tourism, the economic benefits derived from historical and cultural heritage, the economic synergy created by television series filmed in the district, and the production capacity of the textile sector. Surveys conducted with 390 small and medium-sized enterprises in Midyat and data analysis performed using SPSS software reveal the capacity of these SMEs to reduce unemployment and create jobs in the region.
