Özet
Triticale cultivars can be grown for fodder as well as grain. Growing demand for food resources has led to an increased interest in triticale development. This cereal is receiving great attention as an alternative source of nutrients and health-protective components in the human diet. In this study, the lipid content and fatty acid composition of 7 triticale varieties were determined. The lipid content of the examined triticale varieties varied between 0.11 and 1.14%. The major unsaturated fatty acids found in the grain lipids of triticale varieties were oleic (17.16-22.74%), linoleic (53.67-57.84%) and linolenic (4.04-5.01%) acids. Levels of palmitoleic, arachidic, erucic, docosahexaenoic and nervonic acids were found to be lower than 1%. The crude ash (CA) and crude protein (CP) ratios in the grains of triticale varieties varied between 0.75-2.24% and 7.45-9.34%, respectively. The acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fibre (NDF) and acid detergent lignin (ADL) ratios of the grains of triticale varieties varied between 7.91-9.04%, 25.34-29.45% and 1.06-2.96%, respectively. The dry matter digestibility (DMD) and dry matter intake (DMI) ratios and relative feed value (RFV) values of triticale grains varied between 81.86-82.74%, 4.08-4.74% and 260.74-302.54, respectively. The Presto, Umranhanim and Alperbey varieties have greater ADL and NDF properties; Aysehanim and Mehmetbey varieties had better ADF and CP ratios; the Tatlicak-97 variety recorded higher total digestible nutrients (TDN), DMD, digestible energy (DE) and metabolic energy (ME) values; the Tacettinbey variety had higher ash content, DMI and relative feed value (RFV).
