Özet

Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Clinical Learning Environment Scale for Nursing Students in the Turkish context. Method: A methodological study, the sample consisted of 620 nursing students from two public universities in Türkiye. Data was collected through face-to-face interviews using the student information form, the Clinical Learning Environment Scale for Nursing Students (NS-CLES), and the Clinical Learning Environment Scale (CLES). The study was conducted between December 15, 2023, and January 15, 2024. IBM SPSS 25.0 and IBM AMOS 25.0 software were used in data analysis, and the data were evaluated for content validity using the Davis method, confirmatory factor analysis, item-total score correlation, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and parallel form reliability methods. Results: The mean age of the students participating in the study was 21.81 (SD=1.83) (min: 18-max: 39). The scale's content validity index was determined as 0.92. Model fit indices were generally in good fit. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.884 for the total scale and 0.706, 0.706, and 0.850 for the subdimensions, respectively. A moderate positive correlation was found between NS-CLES, and CLES (r = 0.638; p < 0.001). Conclusion: The NS-CLES, with its 19-item and three-subfactor structure, has been determined to be a valid and reliable tool for evaluating the clinical learning environments of nursing students. © 2025 The Authors.
